Leadership Training:

HERO On Duty!

How to Live All Your Dreams and Help Others Live Theirs

HERO - any person admired for courage, nobility, regarded as an ideal role model
("Hero," Webster New College Dictionary)

H-onesty - Tells the truth even when it is not easy

E-mpathy - Understands the feelings of others

R-esponsibility - Ownership for actions, resists peer pressure, resolves conflict non-violently

O-ptimism - Excited about his or her personal future -"my life has a purpose."

This 2-to-3 hour Leadership Training or Conference Keynote extends Aric’s “Live Your Dreams” message to the area of leadership and how inspired, thoughtful students can connect with and lead others in everyday life. Students explore how their actions and words can positively or negatively change the climate and culture of any campus.

This training includes:

  • Aric leading students through HERO on Duty Principles
  • Interactive Team Building Activities
  • Making a Difference Planning - Students will have a plan of action to change the climate and culture of their campus upon completion of the training.
  • You'll also receive a HERO ON DUTY Workbook and souvenir card for all attendees!

Ideal Audience: Student leaders on campus - Student Council, FCCLA, NHS, PALS, FFA, FCA, Athletes, Peer Mediators, as well as the inclusion of At-Risk Populations, GEAR UP Students, AVID, Migrant Students, Key Clubs, and students that aren't necessarily involved on campus and need that extra push to step up.

The following 40 Developmental Assets incorporated in Aric's messge:

Service To Others, Positive Peer Relationships, Achievement Motivation, Bonding to School, Caring, Equality and Social Justice, Integrity, Honesty, Responsibility, Restraint, Planning and Decision Making, Interpersonal Competence, Cultural Competence, Resistance Skills, Peaceful Conflict Resolution, Personal Power, Self Esteem, Sense of Purpose, Positive View of Personal Future

Aric got the students out of their comfort zone and had them break into groups with students from other schools. From there, the students participated in a variety of leadership activities and obstacles where they had to work together as a team to achieve success.

Bostick doesn't just talk to the students; he truly reaches them on a deeper level. He "gets it" and isn't afraid to tell his own personal story of struggles and how it has shaped him to be the person who he is today.
